Name : Gale Edenrodth
Alias : Gale, Bug-eye
Gender : Female
Age : 22
Race : Human
Sexuality : Heterosexual
Marital Status : Single
Origin : A small, tightly-knit fishing village known as “Flotsam.”
Current Residence : The Yenogrechen
Occupation : None officially; engineer of sorts from her world, fisherman.
Height : 5'9” in.
Weight : 163 lbs.
Body Type : Being raised like “one of the boys” in her village and having to carry her weight just as much as any other man, Gale has built up her body. She is rather tall, with most of the length being in her long, toned legs, with the rest of her body still well attended to.
Skin : Mildly rough, moderately tanned from the long periods of time she spends out in the sun. Fortunately for her, she does not burn easily. Has a few scars from various scrapes—from people, machine, and perhaps an angry sea god or two.
Eyes : Blue-green.
Hair : A little below shoulder-length, naturally a shade of blue. She usually wears an orange bandana, which does a nice enough job of keeping it out of the way, but may on occasion purposefully let some hair stay in her face, especially at the right side. However, if she gets really into something, she ties her hair back with just about anything available.
Physical Description : Tall and muscular, especially in her legs, with the remainder of her body toned rather well, much of Gale's life is lain bare on her appearance alone. Her clothing is very simple; an orange bandana and pair of goggles worn over her medium-length blue hair which shows some slight signs of being neglected, a yellow one-piece swimsuit with black lines snaking up the sides and somehow managing to flatter her figure without trying when the denim overalls cut at the mid-thigh aren't on. Her legs are often just short of being completely exposed, and she is usually barefoot when on the beach. Otherwise, she wears makeshift sandals made out of animal skins and whatnot. Her toes are somewhat long, her feet usually dirty. She has a straight nose and full, soft lips.
Speech : Moderately high-pitched, but often loud unless she's found a reason to keep quiet. Often comes off as somewhat commanding, though this may simply be a habit learned from taking the helm of ships and projects all over her village.
Personality : Without a doubt, Gale is a tomboy. She is often stubborn enough to put a mule to shame, somewhat prideful, short-tempered, and loud in many respects. With her grandmother being the only real feminine influence she had in her life, there was little to restrain her from developing as she decided to, which was molded greatly by her numerous, roughhousing elder siblings. She learned to never let anyone push her around, no matter what the circumstances. With this life, however, she is terribly used to fending for herself in many ways, and can become terribly frustrated when someone steps in or steals her thunder—she's rather easily discouraged if she's sensitive about something, such as her cooking, and gets jealous even easier. Her femininity is very hard to find, as she often behaves much like a man, but on occasion, she will show a completely different side to herself, much more of a motherly side.
Likes : Coming from a life of hard work and into perhaps even more, Gale likes to be successful. Winning is a great thing to her, and it's even better when she was able to be a leader figure somewhere in the course of winning. The way she sees it, if she's in charge, the only things that can go wrong are the things she doesn't calculate—and she usually sees just about all of the potential problems. She loves the water, and she's quite the strong swimmer. This comes in handy when she's fishing, which is another of her passions, and something she's all around great at. She loves tinkering with machines of all sorts, and it's just great when she comes up with a new idea. Although it may not always seem like it, she's really quite the socialite, and is rather fond of and protective of her few friends.
Dislikes : She does not like criticism, and hates it even more when no one asked for it. And she never asks for criticism. Losing or being bested in general are rather disagreeable to her, as she's quite the sore loser. She hates the sea god that practically stalks her now, especially since it killed some of her family. She also hates people who sit around and do nothing when something can obviously be done, and quitters. Idea blocks are the bane of her, made even worse when she really needs a new idea. Above all else, though, she hates feelings of helplessness and regret.
Fears : Insects and insectoid creatures in general, drowning, and a fear of heights that's really only a problem on top of things like mountains, although she tries to never let on to any of those, and would especially never admit it to anyone else.
Family : She had six brothers, two of which were younger than her, her father, and her mother's grandparents. Her mother died when she was young, and since she doesn't remember her much, she isn't particularly broken up about it. She grew very close to what remained of her family, though. Her father and she got along splendidly, and she often tried her best to listen to her grandparents. Her grandfather had been a pirate for a time, and she liked to hear the stories of his days in action. Her grandmother, however, was probably the only reason she didn't turn out manlier than her brothers.
History : Gale grew up in a small fishing village by the sea. She had four brothers at this point, and two more would come before her mother died of some sickness when she was 4. Life went on without her, though. It had to. Gale did as much of the chores as any of her siblings, no slack being cut just because of her gender. She handled it well, though, and was made strong. By the time she was eighteen, she could run and fight with the best of men from nearby villages, even though Flotsam was somewhat isolated. What she had in advantage, however, was her skill with technology. She pioneered new engineering that the world would later come to use after her disappearance, machines that made life in the village much easier and work more efficiently than ever.
Due to this easier life, the villagers turned to Gale for their problems, and praised her often. Their prayers left a sea god, who became sickeningly jealous and angry. He attacked in many ways at first, often with heavy storms or the occasional disappearance of the fish. Flotsam pulled through all the same, it was nothing new to them. Blinded with his rage, the god eventually assaulted the village himself. He smashed into a building on the edge of the water, pulled out several people—including Gale's brothers, grandparents, and various villages—and cruelly attempted to drown them. Gale dove in after them and managed to save almost everyone, but became deeply entangled in the god's squid-like avatar before she could save her younger brother. He drowned, but the oblivia took her before she followed the same fate.
To this day, she wonders why it saved her and not her brother. She ended up in the Yenogrechen, and has since been trying to figure out where she is and what happened.
Allegiance : Primarily to herself, but her closest friends (few as they may be) aren't far behind, and she would help them before herself without a second thought.
Weapons : Aside from a knife she uses to gut fish, Gale doesn't care many weapons at all. She is, however, excellent at brawling, which she feels definitely makes up for it. Could probably turn just about anything into a weapon, one way or another.
Strengths : With a quick wit, moderate muscles and the general know-how, Gale is not usually a force to be reckoned with. She has plenty of muscles in her arms, and even more in her legs that are irrefutable proof of her long life of swimming. A quick to the wrong place could prove to be fatal, or at least incredibly uncomfortable.
Weaknesses : Her fear of high heights can become debilitating at a high enough place. She is also rather stubborn and quick to anger, so there is a point where her rage can be blinding and her hard-headedness means she is not willing to listen or even work well with others—and of course, this can end up as being a very bad thing in something that requires cooperation from all parties. There is also her nasty habit of her mouth working faster than her brain.

Extra Information :
- She has a mild form of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.
- Gale isn't all that great of a cook. Sure, it's edible, but would you really want to eat that when there are probably some half-eaten berries or something in the woods? However, she's very sensitive about it, and gets very upset when it's criticized, or even more so when someone seems to effortlessly one-up her.
