If there was ever an annoying little beast, it would be the Scamp. Mischievous and vile, these monstrously self-indulgent beings are considered one of the most pesky of all creations.
Scamps, like the Nymph, is a distant relative to the Faerie. Whereas Faeries typically represent peace and love and Nymphs represent seduction and deception, Scamps represent boyish mischief- at least, early on in their lives. Scamps are airborne creatures, like their cousins, and are adorned with small blueish-grey markings. In later stages of life, these markings become purer in coloration or blacker and redder in coloration.
Scamps are noted for their incredible lifespans. The extremely scant few who live past their formative years can easily breach the 10,000 year barrier. Legends tell of Scamps living past 100,000 years with ease. However, by the time they reach that age, they are no longer Scamps. Scamps are rare in that as they grow older, they are counted as technically distinct creatures. The rare pure and compassionate Scamp, after about 7000 years of living, will become a Holykin. A devious and malicious Scamp will become a Netherkin by about the same time. They grow into more adolescent type bodies in this stage, and are far more threatening. There have been twelve Netherkin recorded and two Holykin sightings. Later stages are speculated, and Scamp legends deal with a "Daemon" of sorts watching everything, everyone, readying itself for the day it can consume everything and everyone. This stage is possible in theory, but only after nearly millions of years. This would make its chances of existing dubious at best. Perhaps just a game the Scamps like to play to scare zealous people.
