Setting: The season is nearing the end of summer, so the day is windy and a little cloudy. The circus is in town and it's bustling with acrobats, clowns, musicians, and circus-goers wondering at tricks and feats - among others. Status: Open like that girl standing on the street corner. ----
Wilson hummed a low song on his harmonica idly, glancing about at the bustle around him. There were a bunch of whiny kids around the game stands so he was planning to leave as soon as someone passed by him near enough that he could reach into their pocket with no problem.
He blew a rather difficult chord randomly to draw a bit of attention to himself. A crooked, charming grin was sent to a pretty lady when she glanced at him, but her boyfriend got in the way with his glare.
"Faw," Will sighed boredly. It accidentally blew a bad note on his harmonica so he ended up pocketing the stolen item just as a rich-looking lady passed by close enough he could reach into her purse easily and take some money. He did so, and, goal accomplished, he looked around for any of the circusfolk that looked remotely like dancers. None in sight. Damn.
Well he got a little idea to fix this. He took a random guy's hat and disappeared into the crowd then around a small tent awning before the guy could stop him, dropping the hat upside-down on the dirt beside him and withdrawing the stolen harmonica again (such a kleptomaniac, Will was).
The thief went through a catalog of songs inside of his head for a second or two, the harmonica poised and ready at his mouth, before he blew an experimental note then launched into a loud and bawdy tune. Y'know, it was that type of song that had the perfect beat to tap your foot to, and the perfect tune that made you want to sway your hips with the dancing little notes. Even Wilson couldn't stop from nodding his head in time with it.
Hey, it was a good plan, okay? Randomly launching into song in hopes of drawing a dancer nearby would come and, y'know, dance was a perfectly legitimate plan.

Bare feet padded along the cobblestone street, tumbling around as though the owner were a drunkard. Forward they stepped, backwards they fell again and again, sometimes straying off to the side. People parted way in front of her in her vibrant get-up; bright reds and clean whites forming a pattern over her clothes, with various types of jewelry- anklets, bracelets, rings, you name it- hanging and jangling all over her. Those hips rocked back and forth as she stumbled around, smiling amicably to all of the strangers.
Today was a good day. No, it was a great day! The third show of the day had let out, and with an hour or so before the next, she had some time to unwind in the street. Her back was getting sore, anyway; the oddly rhythmic movements she made helped it feel better.
As she walked, she felt her toes curl up, and her usual rhythm changed. She looked up, stunned. What was that? Music, outside of the main area? The girl with pointed ears bounced in excitement. It wasn't bad, either! It had a nice tune.
She was going to trip if she kept at it like this, though! She giggled to herself as she jumped on to her hands, putting them down on to the stone of the road, her feet waggling around over her. And so, she had made up her mind; she was going to find whoever was playing that music- they couldn't be far, anyway. A childish grin filled with mirth filled her round face.
Today could only get better, after all, so why not smile?

Wilson, once upon a time, would've sputtered and lost his tune when he saw feet instead of a head in the air. But he didn't this time, 'cause, y'know, he was at a circus. And strange things happened at circuses all the time.
He started to get more involved with the song, improvising drums by slapping his hand against his leg or stomping his foot for a beat and humming the melody that was supposed to be sung (for shame, he was doing the song injustice by using a harmonica, but he didn't have anything else right then).
A smile broke out on his face when someone dropped money into the overturned hat. Two birds with one stone, eh? A child being strung along by his mother pointed at Will and then ran over to listen, dragging the woman along with him.
He couldn't quite make out who the person doing a handstand was, 'cause of the crowd, but Will was reasonably sure that it was at least a performer that he could rope into teaching him acrobatics. It wasn't the same as dancing but he wanted to learn that too.
"I feel like dancing," he sang boisterously before returning to the harmonica, barely withholding a laugh. That was his favorite part of the song. It made Will feel kind of bad that the people around couldn't hear the lyrics so he made a promise to himself to sing them when he managed to get his thieving hands on a guitar.

"So why don't you, then?" the girl piped up as she finally reached the musical man through the crowd. She wobbled in front of him, carefully balancing on her hands and making sure not to bump into anyone. The last time she did it, the victim was obviously none too happy.
Finally in eyesight of the man, the performer beamed up at him. Oh, she should probably flip over again, shouldn't she? Sebastian always told her it wasn't polite to talk to people in the street while you're doing a handstand- unless of course you're actually performing, but that's part of the job. Otherwise, it wasn't nice. With the greatest of ease, she carefully let her feet down behind her, and after a moment, stood upright.
Now on her feet, her hips began rocking again, back and forth, as the music took hold. The motion was light and in-tune with the rhythm; almost as though she had heard it and danced to it before. She had not, however, she was just a fast learner, which was most fortunate for her career.
"Say, I haven't seen you around before. Do you work with us now?" she asked, tilting her head. If he were new, she would have thought she would know about him by now. There was always a chance she didn't though. She liked him, either way, and his music. Hopefully he was part of the circus, or had some intentions of joining! Maybe she could persuade him. New additions were always great, and they definitely livened up the sometimes stale tent. Sebastian was really nice and everything, but she was too shy to be around him much. The deformed singers were stupid. They never wanted to talk to her. The ringleader was busy a lot, and really didn't have much time to spend with her. Everyone else was boring, or they didn't pay her much attention at all.
But maybe if this guy, he seemed lively, joined the circus (assuming he wasn't already in it without her knowing), things would be much more exciting- and not just for her! He would bring new music, it seemed, and with it she'd have new motion. Everyone would be sure to love it! Oh, how exciting this idea was.

Wilson shrugged one of his shoulders in answer to her question. He was still kinda playing the harmonica but he was close to the end of the song, so it took him around four seconds as he blew the last chord to reply.
He took a few breaths to help himself catch up. "Oh, y'know, I kind of have a habit of flopping around like a fish when I try to dance." He shrugged again, lowering the harmonica and trying not to hum the song over. The tiny crowd that had gathered to listen either walked off or dropped money into the hat then walked off. Hehe, money.
"Er, naw, I don't work here none. I'd join but I got other things to do, lots of friends here though." Wilson smirked somewhat like the thief he was. Sure, other things to do. Hahaha. "Oh wait is it impolite or something to have the hat money thing when I don't work here? Crap, sorry!" Hurriedly he picked up the hat and stuffed the gathered money in his pockets for later counting. Then Wilson stood there looking awkward with a hat in his hand.
"...Wanna hat, honey?" He asked in a boyish manner, grinning and offering the fedora-like headwear to the girl.

The dancer frowned softly, her lips pursing into a pouted expression. Oh, well- she tried. Offerings of headgear served to placate her, fortunately. She twirled around on one foot and took the brim of it in between her toes. Still, the twirling took a moment to stop, as she bent backwards to place the hat atop her head. Her nigh unstoppable smile returned to her round face.
"I don't really mind if you collect money, personally; the hat should definitely make up for it, if you ask me! Maybe someone else would mind, so I wouldn't make it a regular thing around here, okay?" she giggled, her thin body wiggling and twisting. "Anywho, you say you can't dance? Psh! Don't be silly. Everyone can dance, but sometimes they need a bit of direction!"
Her hand extended to him. "I've never been much of a teacher, but dancing really isn't hard to do once you find your rhythm. I could help you find it, if you'd like!" She grinned warmly, excitement clearly buzzing all over her body.

Wilson watched with amusement at the twirling and the acrobatic moves and whatnot. Okay, maybe he didn't want to learn acrobatics, but he did like to watch them. Because... yeah, they were fun to watch.
"Yeah, good plan, I'll stick to it." He nodded sagely, shoving his hands into his pockets. "Eheh, darlin', I'll need a lot of direction, then." Wilson snickered loudly.
He stuck out his hand as well, wondering briefly at how big and spindly and scarred his hand was to her little girlish one, then grinned a toothy smile. "I bet if I could get my rhythm I could do just fine from there, I'm never one for 'professional' teachin' anyways." Seriously, this girl was infectious with her mood, see. Charming. He couldn't stop smilling either.
