Created long ago by a desperate wizard who found himself with no place left to go, the oblivion has existed for a very long time. You just don't know it's there. After the realm's creation, the wizard slept, and as he slept, his dreams and memories seeped out into the realm, creating a completely new world, filled with magick and possibilities. In the countless centuries he slept, time moved on as he dreamed his sleepy dreams; great but ephemeral civilizations rose and fell, wars raged against the sentient and nature itself, peoples died out. Few civilizations have survived time's sepia-toned march.
Today, the kingdom of Nillea has risen from the ashes of dozens of others before it. Lantio the Fallen awoke but one final time to summon forth the one who would start to raise this new kingdom from the dirt, before he disappeared for reasons unknown. As he walks among all manner of realms and worlds in search of something, Nillea has just begun to thrive.
The diverse kingdom of Nillea is currently ruled by the Monarchy of Naught, whose numbers can grow up to seven, but for the time being lie at five. Each monarch is named for one of the Seven Deadly Sins—a tradition started by the mysterious oblivia itself. Lady Avaritia, Monarch of Greed, is typically accepted as being the “head” monarch, with the other six being just slightly below her, but all play an incredibly important part in their own way: Iracundus, Monarch of Wrath, serves as a revered war general and brilliant tactician; Viridis, Monarch of Pride; Volere, Monarch of Envy; and Fantasma, Monarch of Lust. While smaller levels of power exist throughout Nillea, the Monarchs are typically accepted as the ultimate power of the kingdom.
One of the odd elements of the oblivion is its tendency to pull individuals from other worlds into its domain, sometimes saving a life, sometimes ending one. Sometimes, the oblivia seems to have some sort of plan for the individual (as with the Monarchs, who have all been abducted by the oblivia), sometimes it is for no apparent reason at all. Needless to say, the oblivia works in odd ways, though the recorded incidents of abduction has seemed to rise ever since an anomaly showed itself—one that haunts Lady Avaritia in her dreams, but few people seem to know exactly what it is without having seen it. Whatever power is, it is rising—the entire world can feel it, and a few individuals are beginning to rise to meet the Daemon.

Nillea, outside of its storyline contexts, is a formal roleplaying forum. It was created in December 2006 by a bored 11-year-old girl with an overactive imagination, who has matured since then and along with a bunch of other bored teenagers, upkeeps and expands the forum. The plot and history have changed drastically since their initial conception, and since their extensive development, we seemed to have reached a reasonable concept that I believe we would like to keep.
Before you create, or even join, a new roleplay, it is definitely recommended that you read our rules first, as ignorance is, unfortunately, no excuse. Wouldn't it be quite a shame if, when you're just trying to have some good old-fashioned fun, you got kicked out of a roleplay or banned, all over a simple misunderstanding? Why yes, it would! We'd quite like to receive and retain as many members as we possibly can. Do not fear the banhammer, though. We monarchs aren't unreasonable; we simply ask that you follow the rules we have worked so hard to establish, and still work so hard to uphold.
If you are a new to this forum and have somehow found yourself here, I, Avaritia, would personally like to thank you for showing interest in our world, and welcome you to Nillea. I and everyone else on this forum would be simply delighted if you joined us and roleplayed with us sometime. It's not very hard, either! Registration is easy and only takes but a few moments of your time. There are no “approvals” of your registration. As soon as you are registered, you can have some fun! Not to mention the other perks of registration, such as private messaging and access to boards you might not have seen yet.
If you have any questions at all, please feel free to ask me or any other monarch! We don't bite, I promise. Again, I'd like to thank you for reading, and sincerely hope that we'll see you going about the forum sometime soon!
Welcome to the Oblivion.
